NewWine RLC Shoot #potd

By Blog, Work No Comments

So far today’s shoot is going well. My brother has been away and normally I would use his kit so on this and last week’s shoot, I’ve been hiring in kit from who are based in Ealing studios.

The kit is centered around a Canon 5d mk2 on rails with a Dedo light kit and a H4N with boom. There are a few items new to me but generally it’s a great kit and packs down well.

I’m particularly loving the rail system. It’s great to be able to pull the while rig off the sticks and run it from the shoulder. My first rail setup last week was poorly thought out but this morning I had a little more time to set it up and I nailed it.

Proof will be the footage!

XP install

XP on a Mac?

By Work 2 Comments

XP installCurrently installing XP in Virtual Box on my Mac!

I know, I should feel ashamed for installing any windows products on a Mac but I need to setup the virtual machine for website testing.

So far I’m quite impressed with VirtualBox but I’ll write up something more substantial when its successful.

Just feels so weird seeing an XP symbol on my Mac.

Coding code

By tfbloggers, Work No Comments

Been working on a few things today but one of the items is a social-stream consisting of content from different sources being pulled in to a wall and displayed chronologically in a masonry style layout which is filterable and branded as per the clients needs.

Expect a post on the work portfolio when it’s launched.

2013-02-05-12.28.04It’s really really busy at the moment which is great! It’s a little manic but then it’s that time fo year where all the New Year requests are getting close to delivery time. Here’s a flavour:

  • 5 WordPress website projects,
  • 3 digital on-line coding jobs
  • 2 small film based pieces
  • and one large film project about to start.

Its awesome! Stay tuned for results!

Trip Update

By God, Work 2 Comments

Wow, This place is … thought-provoking!

This trip has been quite mind bender. I’ve never really witnessed such poverty on the scale that ive been witnessing it here. It’s epic in its proportions.

One of the first things I noticed with this town we are staying in called Poi Pet is the lack of infrastructure. This is obvious when you see all the rubbish everywhere. It’s dirty, smelly and hot and is hard to take in at times.

Then when you take in the reason why we are here its gets harder. Trafficking is not a great thing to think about.

BUT – seeing what CHO are doing here is amazing.

I’m going to Cambodia

By God, Work No Comments

On Wednesday morning my boss came to me and asked if I would be up for going to Cambodia at the beginning of April. Seeing as i know that these opportunities don’t come very often at Tearfund I jumped at the chance.

Over the next week the plans will come together but I’ll be going for a week to meet a Tearfund partner. It’s all quite fun!
