Blowing up stuff – THE MANLY WAY

Its bee a silly couple of weeks in that we are a bit run off our feet at work. We are working on a big proposal for a client and its all hands on deck. Stress levels are not really being kept in check.

In order to keep my sanity I have been looking at techy stuff inbetween bits and pieces. Please be warned I’m about t Geek out here for a moment.

I signed up to twitter a few months back in an attempt to figure out what it was about. It was only yeasterday when i downloaded Google Desktop andadded the Twitter gadget that i realised how one should use it.

Its all about how you use it. I was trying to undestand the concept of microblogging and just couldn’t get it.  You NEED a live interface to really get the benefits of it. Without a live interface you have to keep on opening up a browser , navigate to your page and then check it. With a ljve interfae you get the updates live andcan respond to the people you follwo live. – If youstill dt get it – i dont blame you – just try looking fo a tool that suits you.

The other cool thing has been the google desktop app. It’s actually quite a good tool as it ascts as a searchbar for both yur PC and the web and its right on the desktop or its hidden depending on how you set it up. I think its a very cool lil app.

tunage and photoage

touch meI’m working on sorting out my photos and music.

Over the weekend i managed to clear up my MP3 collection. Over the years i’ve managed to store my music on various different drives. They were not all the same collections either. To sort this i pulled them all onto one drive thus creating alot of duplication on top of the silly duplications i’d made.

After pulling these into iTunes it said i had 34456 MP3’s. Spme albums had du[plicated 6 imes. I had 7 copies of “The Bends”…..SEVEN!?!?!

I have now managed to whittle this down to about 7500. It was an arduous task but well worth it. Was also well wort seeing all the music i listen too and i was able to admire my own taste. Vanity at the up-most but it is my collection so I’m allowed to like it.

Now I’m in the process of sorting through Photos. When i started sorting through th photos a couple of weeks ago I had almost 25000. I’m getting rid of all the crap photos of blurriness and stuff like that. I used to have mentality of keep everything. Even blurry ones. It may come in handy. After sifting hrough over a thousand images i realized that whatever creative outlet might need blurry photos was probably capable of creating an NEW blurry photo should the need arise.

The other plan is to upload them all. There is room on this site for it s I may as well. I can create better galleries now and use the site as an online storage area for them. We will see.

UPDATE

I’ve realised that there seems to be alot of photo duplication and i cant seem to view my RAW images wit adobe bridge…..cretinousnous!

Laquila Earthquake – A call to prayer

earlier this week in the middle of the night the people of Laquila, Italy were brutally awoken by a vicious earthquake.

At the time that the earthquake struck Ruth and i woke up in our beds in London. I couldn’t get back to seep and i felt the need to pray s i told ruth and we spent about 30 mins praying for the unknown.

In the morning i heard the news.

God is cool with how he can call people to pray like that.

close to the wire?

This lsat week has been quite a busy one. I feel a bit frayed and in need of a holiday. Ruth & I are planning a weeken away in May. We have got a church weekend away but that’s work for Ruth. We want a weekend to ourselves so we are gonna g down to Henley and stay in my folks caravan. After [intlink id=”1495″ type=”post”]helping dad put in the floor[/intlink] the other weekend i think its deserved that we stay there. We really are both in need of a Holiday. If anyone wants to give us an all expences paid holiday somewhere that would be ace!

So, what’s been happening this week?

BTP – On thurs and fri i was shooting with The British Transport Police. It was a grea shoot and it was facinating spending the two days in te company of coppers. They were a good fun bunch of guys to work with and we hd a good tim. The shhot itself was very strenuouse. we were all over teh place travelling to nad from various locations. Were were on the go constantly which was a major pressure but it went really well, i think it’ gonna b a really good programme.  Have a pic of me doing some directing…

Weekend – Chilltastic. Becasue ofthe arduaous previous 2 days we took it really easy over the weekend. On Fridat eve we watched ‘American History X’ which ruth hadn’t seen before and then we were in bed by about 10:30. On sat morning i woke up at my usual time and realised that i’d left my electric blnket on all night. I was bunched up agaist wifey in attempt to get away from the scolding heat. I turned it off and went back to sleep and woke again at 12:30ish. Rut did some ‘wii fit’ and i faffed on the pooter.

We wnet out fo a walk on which we got cold and rained on so we turnedit into a drive. It was nice to be out of the house. In the eve we went and had dinner with some friends at church who had invited us that morning.

Sunday morning was spent creating graphics for the new notices at church. Well its a new layout for the notices anyway. It was also a time for me to teach ruth how to do some graphics.

Monday was monday – no real news there.

Funeral – Yesterday was Alan’s (Ruth’s unofficial Uncle – its complicated) funeral. It was actually a really nice service. I got to meet the other side or Ruth’s extended family. While i didnt know any of them – it as nice to meet them and hear some stories relating to my hot sexy wife’s life.

Ruth drove home which was ace.

 

I am tired and drained hence feeling close to the wire…

 

I’m also getting fed up with thi crappy keyboard that seems to miss keystrokes at its own will!
